Initial Impressions from a new mentoring student

I did not know what to expect.  First I had to answer several questionaires.  Dirk wanted to know my motivations and expectations.  I guess I qualified because he agreed to mentor me.  He had me set up an Instant Messenger so I could contact him if needed.  I'm as close to help as an IM.

He started me from the beginning.  First off, I stopped live trading.  I did not really want to stop live trading, but I figured if I was going to buy into his system I was going to do as he suggested.

He gave me some exercises that I thought I could do in a week.  It took me a month.  Some of it was very time consuming, but reprogramming my mind was taking place.  After working on some of the exercises for hours, and with the prodding of his questions, some lights started to come on.

When I submit my exercises, I can not wait to see his comments.  He is very adroit at perceiving my weaknesses and making suggestions for improvement.

At some point he put me on his list to receive Daily Briefings.  They are in my Inbox every morning when I get up. His Daily Briefings are not just something put together on the spur of the moment.  They are an in-depth analysis.  He expects you to think for yourself but, boy it sure helps to see what he is thinking.

He does not claim to have all the answers. He convinced me that trading Forex is all about probablilities and from what I have seen so far is that one of my objectives is to gain all the edges I can to get the probablilities in my favor.

After only a couple of months under his guidance, I can safely say I was very ill prepared to be live trading with my previous guru.  My only saving grace was that I found Dirk before I lost all my trading account, because with what I know now, I would have lost my trading account in very short order going the way I was going.

Will I succeed under Dirk?  Who knows, but I know this.  He is preparing me correctly and if I listen and follow his suggestions, I will have gained an edge.  In the final analysis, though, "if it is to be, it is up to me".  He can not do my thinking for me.  I have a great feeling of confidence and when I begin live trading again, I will have an edge.  I am excited with my preparation.

I highly recommend this mentoring program.  But if you decide against it, at least order a copy of Bird Watching in Lion Country. You owe yourself that much.   beer.gif
